    Class lectures, note-taking, reading assignments, student writing, breakout sessions and class discussions will allow for the exploration of United States history and preparation for a college level course. Quizzes, weekly written assignments, exams, projects and other assessments will be utilized to assess student understanding and progression.

    Daily assessment tasks will be assigned a corresponding grade on a 50 point minimum scale, which means that 50 is the lowest score that a student can receive in this course. Student daily assessments will take the following grading format.

    Assessments are due on the specified due date. Late work may be penalized at the instructor's discretion and may affect the student's course average. Success in any course relies on the timely completion of assigned work.
    Following an absence, it is the student's responsibility to makeup the work missed as soon as possible. This responsibility relies soley on the student. Students may not miss class time to makeup missed assessments.
    Most assignment will follow these fixed point totals. Students will earn 20 points per quarter (1 point per blog post up to 20 points) for dailies blog posts. Students will earn 40 points per quarter (5 points per blog post up to 40 points) for weekly article posts. Students should maintain a weekly schedule with their blogs, as I will be checking regularly to see that students are taking the task seriously. "Fluff" blog posts will not be given credit.
    In addition student will earn up to 10 points on most quizzes and 20 points for projects of the student's choosing.

    Abuse of Gaggle, Twitter, and our social media community will result in minus 5 points, referral to administration, and suspension of the student's network account.
